On Setting Daily Tasks

I don’t have goals. Instead, I like to separate my aspirations into 2 categories.

  1. Way off in the future HUGE dreams.
  2. The stuff I am working on this week.

When I focus on quarter or annual goals exclusively, I get too bogged down in planning them out. I end up doing nothing. When I focus on the daily tasks that need to be completed work actually gets done.

The daily list is usually a bit longer than this, but you get the point.

Success is not a destination, accomplishment, winning, etc. Success is waking up each day and doing the right things.

Ask yourself, “Did I give today everything I have. Did I do my best? Did use my time wisely in light of getting me closer to my dreams?”

If the answer is, “Yes,” pat yourself on the back. You are successful.

If is “No,” try again tomorrow. You will be all right.

I have found most people are good at dreaming, but just never take action. This is sad, because action is the only thing that’s different between people who do awesome stuff and people who don’t.
