Pushing Yourself

I read this last night from John Saddington

…and it got me thinking about 3 years ago when I was in the middle of starting my company. It was one of those times in my life where I was in the middle of feeling like I was not moving forward in my career and not being completely ready for the the next step.

Of course, both sides of my “situation” were only stories I was telling myself. You can always keep moving forward–AND–you are never ready for the next step, especially if it’s a big one.

John’s post hit me in the right place. Envoy is doing well, but it still doesn’t feel like the company I set out to build. Don’t get me wrong, we are doing great work. It’s just that I feel like it could be doing more…solving a bigger problem. It could be much better.

At this point, I think the only thing holding us back is the story we are telling ourselves. The truth is, we need to grow some courage to push hard into what is next for us.
