A couple of weeks ago, I parked in a parking garage to go see a movie in Chattanooga. When you pull into this parking garage, you take a ticket, and there are two ways to pay:
Use Park Mobile, start a parking session, and scan the ticket. When you leave, scan your ticket, and it charges your Park Mobile account. This is the parking garage’s preferred method of payment, and one that has worked seamlessly every time that I’ve parked there.
Pay at the kiosk by scanning your ticket on the way out.
That day, I chose to use the park mobile version, but when I went to go leave and scan my ticket, the kiosk asked me to pay. I figured there was some kind of bug in the software, so I paid at the kiosk and left.
About a week later, I noticed that I had a parking session that had been running for 7 days. I tried to contact Park Mobile through their customer support app. The chat kept timing out. I called them. I kept getting put on hold, and ultimately I just forgot about it.
Then one day I saw a post on X about a new personal assistant AI agent called Fo, from Wajo. Their demo video struck me as interesting because it could make phone calls with an AI agent or turn it over to a person if the AI agent isn’t successful.
I signed up and pointed it at my Park mobile problem with a simple text message.
It took five phone calls over three days to get it resolved. Fo made those calls. Fo handled the support emails, the website, and the follow-up.
And all I had to do was answer a few questions via text on my phone.
This is the future.
